The concept of looking well put together, trendy and super cute everyday is ideal to say the least, but in reality not always viable. There was definitely a reason we all wore uniforms to school back in the day and that reason was to save us all the time and energy of planning an outfit each and every day. Schools may or may not know this, but it’s totally a thing. As stressful and tiring as it may be to make sure you look good 24/7, there is a way around this.
Purchase a few staple items that you can wear a million and one ways that you can always rely on to make you look good. If you’re still feeling a bit uncertain as to what I’m talking about well then you’re in luck. I’ve partnered with Superbalist to bring you some of my favourite everyday work-ready looks that you can wear time and time again.
1. Denim culotte jumpsuit
Denim, culotte, jumpsuit. Those three words right there are arguably three of my all time favourite fashion words. Individually, I love each of those pieces… put them together and you have the comfiest, trendiest one-piece I ever did see. Depending on the calibre of your work place, this piece is perfect with heels or sneakers. Dress it up, dress it down – either way you’re good to go.

2. Poplin wrap blouse
Let’s take a moment to appreciate these sleeves.
I love a good sleeve and therefore this eye-catching wrap blouse is right at the top of my list of basic staple items. The more ruffles the better! This particular piece comes in plenty of different colours, however keeping it simple with white or black (who am I kidding, we need both right!) means you’ll never have an excuse not to wear it.

3. Side split knit top
Probably one of my favourite tops at the moment is the side split top. Not everyone dares to wear them as they can be a little intimidating if you don’t usually try new styles. However that stigma needs to be broken with this piece. This lightweight fabric and figure flattering cut is a must in every girls collection. I love how versatile and chic this it is. A staple item needs to be something that can be worn numerous different ways and the side split top is definitely one of those pieces.

4. Gingham frill skirt
We all love a good print and this simple frill gingham skirt is the perfect piece to incorporate a bit of print into your outfit. It’s still very minimalistic yet definitely brings an outfit to life. Prints come and go, but gingham will stick around forever. Not to mention this particular style can be worn right through to winter. Pair it with some thigh high boots and you’ll be the centre of attention wherever you work.

5. Short sleeve body con midi dress
If you’ve been following me for a while now you’ll know I love, LOVE midi dresses (I own more than I care to admit). Go for a bold red midi dress that makes a statement however you choose to wear it. Simple, effortless and stylish. When you reach the end of a long week and you have zero energy leftover to worry about what to wear, you will be beyond grateful to look into your cupboard, throw on your midi dress and head on out the door. Looking good doesn’t always have to take a pocket full of cash and hours on end.

Remember, fashion is a fun and creative way to express yourself. So have fun with it! Be creative! Dressing well doesn’t have to be a chore. Obviously everyone works in a different environment with a different dress-code and so what works for some, won’t work for others. That’s the beauty of an online store such as Superbalist; there is something for everyone.
Seen something you like or maybe looking for something similar? Well the good news is if you download the Superbalist app you can get R250 off any purchase of R600 or more (first-time buyers only). Android users download the app here and iOS users download the app here.
