‘They’ say that in order to be a good blogger you need to have dedication, determination and be very consistent. Well if that is the criteria then I must definitely be one of the worst out there. I’m 100% dedicated to my blog, a super determined person, but consistency, I’m still working on it…
Sorry for the lapse in new posts on my blog and my social media over the past month or so. I’ve really been hitting a creative wall and struggling with my content. I don’t want to share content I’m not happy with but also don’t want to be silent online for months on end until I find what I am happy with *first world problems*. Actually sitting down to write a post is also a constant battle with time and energy, especially after a busy day/week of no-stop work. However, some of my favourite creators juggle a full-time job and a blog everyday, so don’t get it twisted, this is not a Kayleigh problem, it’s a blogger/vlogger/creative problem. If something matters enough to you, you will find the time to fit it in. I’m just trying to explain my actions so I can win you all over and hopefully you’ll forgive and forget about my absence lately.
Anyway, hopefully the wait was worth it with this next outfit look; it consists of some of my favourite pieces right now and is perfect for almost any occasion and/or any season. Cape Town is very confusing at the moment with her constant state of sunshine, followed by pouring rain for days on end, followed by wind and clouds. Dressing to find a comfortable medium to all of this is hard to do.
The title of this post is a giveaway as to what the focus is on, and I’d like to think it’s pretty obvious regardless. I’ve never owned a bag of colour before people! This is a big deal. I can’t believe it’s taken me so long to see the light but I’ve always been very aware how easy it is for colourful bags to make you look kitsch or tacky, so I’ve stuck to my brown, white and black bags. I also didn’t think that a bag of colour would go with a lot of looks but it turns out I’ve been wearing this bag with everything. I’ve only had it a few months so maybe the fascination will die out, but currently, it’s my go-to piece. This year my style has changed so much and I’m open to a lot more colour blocking than I thought imaginable, my red bag is the first step for me (I already have my eye on a green bag and dusty pink – who am I?).
The other pieces are also pretty darn cute as well if I do say so myself. These platforms sandals are all the craze right now so I’m really glad I was able to get my hands on my own pair. Not that I need the added height but for those who do, they look casual and are perfect for everyday wear, while still giving you that extra glam that formal heels give you. Let’s also give these jeans another moment of praise while we’re here. I mentioned these in my last post and have since then bought that other white pair I was threatening to buy and am proceeding to live in these, swapping out one for the other as needed. There are so comfy and look so good!
