It’s been forever since I last did a post on a blogger or online influencer who has been giving me all the feels, and quite frankly, these girls are the reason I continue to do what I do. They inspire me, entertain me and keep me on my toes – always trying to stay one step ahead. This is not only with regards to fashion and beauty, but their innovate blogs, vlogs and overall go-getter, girl-boss mentality.
Being that this is 2018 and that every word now has a double meaning, let me just clarify that ‘The Salty Blonde’ is not code for having attitude or being ‘salty’ (LOL), The Salty Blonde comes from this particular influencer’s love for the beach and the seaside. A love which translates into her amazing style and outfits, which represent a beach babe if ever there was. I have been a loyal follower of The Salty Blonde, aka Halley Elefante, for as long as I can remember. Her Instagram dates back to early 2014 but has elevated to new heights and a larger following than ever-before, with a following now of 482k.
Born in New York and currently residing in Oahu Hawaii, Halley has daily updates of her fashionable laid back style and surfer girl lifestyle flooding our Instagram feed. While there are hundreds, heck thousands, of Instagram accounts that I love and give me great inspiration, motivation and style envy, Halley’s is an account that stands out to me for her originality – and clothes. Sheesh I love this girls clothes! Known for her sunnies, oversized hats and straw bags, Halley’s is an account that is hard to impersonate.
From the beginning Halley has kept her page unique, in the sense that she doesn’t have a perfectly curated feed or images of the highest quality, as well as having stayed down to earth and relatable. She constantly lets her followers know that her fiancé is in fact responsible for taking her pics and that he is not that excited when she takes 20 selfies in a row with him in order to get that ‘insta-worthy’ shot (Something I’m sure a lot of us girls are all too familiar with). Although not very frequent in comparison to other influencers who literally live their lives through their insta-stories, when Halley does post to her insta-stories she shows her humour and sassy side which makes me love her even more.
After having done a bit of research, I have the following to report about The Salty Blonde: the first being, to my surprise, Halley is not on Youtube, and the second being, Halley does not have a blog either. I was able to find an ’empty’ website that had been set-up for blog posts and content to take place, but it was obviously a venture created yet never entered into. You are able to shop Halley’s looks from the site which is a bonus for her US followers. This may seem like useless information to you but I find it incredible how The Salty blonde has managed to exist purely through Instagram yet still create such a popular brand name for herself.
I did manage to find an article Halley was featured in titled; “A Day with The Salty Blonde” by Joie de Vivre, which asks: Describe your style ethos in five words. “Boho, beachy, tropical, retro, casual.”
Yip, that basically sums up her the best way possible.
For an online influencer that has seemingly less exposure than others, as well as less information about her online (to my knowledge), Halley is really making her mark in the online community. I look forward to all that is still to come from The Salty Blonde and to see where her journey in the industry takes her. Until then, I will continue to admire, adore and ‘like’ her wardrobe from my Instagram feed.
Please keep in mind that this post is based off of my own findings and opinions, if there is anything I have missed please let me know.
