2017 is well on its way with the first month of the year already behind us, which means that us Durbanites are well into the hottest months of the year as well! Yes Durban summer’s can be brutally hot and humid, but every cloud has a silver lining and in this scenario – fashion is that silver lining! Summer fashion is playful, vibrant and sometimes a little daring. I put together a summer glam look towards the beginning of December last year and have been eagerly awaiting the revamp of my site to show you all. Whilst it isn’t necessarily daring in the conventional sense, I had so much fun with it and felt ready to party the night away.
The jumpsuit featured here is from the immaculate Forever New Island Luxe collection, launched November last year. The collection consisted of elegant upmarket dresses, jumpsuits and two piece sets perfect for the festive season occasions. One of the headliners of the collection was in fact this jumpsuit which I fell in love with the moment I saw it. The crisp clean colours and perfect tailoring made this look as comfortable as it is glamorous. I didn’t want to take it off! Such a timeless piece that you can get so much wear out of in the future, making this rather pricey piece a well worth item for your own wardrobe collection.
It’s important to remember, accessorise, accessorise, ACCESSORISE! I chose to pair this look with my favourite white tassel earrings from Lovisa (featured previously on my Oh Doll post). They are completely not my style and a bit over the top from what I usually go for, but I find myself extremely influenced by other local and international bloggers as of recent, and actually saw them for the first time on one of these ladies. That is the beauty of blogging, sometimes you need to see an item on someone else and the way in which they style it in order to visualise yourself wearing it. So when I stumbled upon them in the mall I was so excited and new I had to have them.
My trusty white ‘block’ heels were the perfect shoes to pair with this jumpsuit. I have had these shoes for about two years now and somehow manage to work them into most of my more sophisticated outfits, so to speak. Considering that I am relatively tall, I don’t were heels for the added height, just for aesthetic purposes. Which makes these shoes ideal for me, they are low in height and comfortable as anything.
(Due to the amount of use I have got out of them, they are starting to look a bit shabby nowadays. I may have to consider parting ways with them soon).
