Denim on denim has been strictly forbidden in my books since the days of Britney and Justin’s matching denim outfit. Definitely an iconic moment for denim (in the worst way possible), which has scared me from playing around with denim over the years. Nothing like playing it safe and sticking to one denim item per outfit. More than that it really is a difficult look to pull off and until recently I never thought possible to look good.
It goes without saying that denim is my favourite fashion piece as it truly never will go out of trend, I have more denim than anything else in my wardrobe. After scrolling my Pinterest page for hours I can finally say that I feel brave enough to mix and match all my denim’s together and rock a denim outfit. Dark denim and light denim worn together is a huge trend right now, as well as the faded and worn out denim worn both top and bottom. Infact, if styled with a few delish accessories, nearly any denim ensemble can be a hit.
If you’re looking for the best places to update your denim wardrobe, I would strongly recommend stopping by Topshop for a pair (literally any pair – you can’t go wrong) of jeans and Woolworths’ Country Road for a denim shirt or denim sweater. They always seem to have the best range of items as well as the best quality.
I would love to hear your feedback, what do you think of the denim on denim trend at the moment? What denim looks need more credit and what denim looks need less? Denim has been reborn and is back in all its glory, yes or no?
