I mentioned in my previous post that one of the reasons I enjoy blogging so much is that it gives me the opportunity to wear clothes I don’t always have the occasion to wear to in my everyday life. As much as I love creating stylish and sometimes ‘themed’ looks, I realised that it’s been a while since I’ve done an ‘outfit of the day’ look for you all. Hopefully you’ve been following my blog for long enough now to know that when it comes to fashion, I can never say no to a beige/cream/brown/nude outfit. Whether it be freezing cold or outrageously hot these colours work for any outfit. So I’ve put together a typical OOTD made up of some of my favourite, and seriously versatile pieces.
The dress I’m wearing is a nude stretch cotton, three-quarter dress from Cotton On. I love, LOVE these dresses, I probably have about 5 or 6 of them in different styles and colours. They are work appropriate when I need to be a bit more formal, as well as on the weekend when I want to be casual but still covered up. I always feel stylish and well put together, and as I have said in many of my other fashion posts, what is fashion if it’s not simple and stylish? Speaking from personal experience, there is nothing worse than waking up in the morning and having no clue what to wear that day – these dresses always save the day.
I may not be big on outfit repeating, but I am undeniably an accessory repeater. There is my gold Marc Jacobs watch which I never leave the house without (I’ve had it for over two years and a half years now and still haven’t found another watch I prefer over it), there is my brown tote bag which goes with just about everything and contains half of my life in it at all times, and there are my brown lace up sandals. They are unexpectedly comfortable and dress down my outfits when I look a little too done up. The only accessory that I haven’t shown before are my gold choker necklaces. I have a really hard time buying costume jewellery as it always seems to discolour or rust after a month or two, just as these necklaces have already done so since these pics were taken. I think it’s definitely time to invest in some proper gold accessories.
