When it comes to summer trends, its all pretty straight forward. A barrel straw hat, denim booty shorts, a pair of Rays, a pair of Haviannas, and then of course a to die for kini. (If you don’t know what any of the above are, are you really doing summer right?) This season when to comes to bikini’s, Triangl is everything! Before I even mention the costumes themselves can we just acknowledge someone in their marketing firm? With Triangl being an online shop, nobody is able to see the bikini’s and try them on. Their allure needs to overcompensate for nervous shoppers who wouldn’t usually buy things without seeing it first. Taking that into consideration, along with everything that social media has become and honestly, I believe that 80% of your sales are based solely on the branding of your product. And what a brand Triangl has become!
From using IT girls like Hailey Baldwin in their campaigns, to appearing in some of the most sort after swimsuit magazine’s, to celebrities like Beyonce and Miley Cyrus wearing the brand, Triangl has built and secured their place as an empire in swimwear. Triangl is the creation of Australian couple Craig Ellis and Erin Deering, who launched their bikinis in 2012. The company was actually founded on the idea of affordable and quality swimwear, unfortunately due to South Africa’s dismal rand at the moment they work out to be a bit more than I would usually spend on my bikinis, but everywhere else in the world they are really well priced. These bikini’s are made out of neoprene fabric which makes them extremely comfortable and holds the shape of the bikini really well. Practical and fashionable!
Triangl has started a trend in bikini’s that has blown up over the past year and has many companies selling their version of the infamous eye-catchingly bright two-pieces adorned with black seams swimwear. Imitation is the highest form of flattery I suppose. I personally pride myself on buying authentic brand names and quality products, it just doesn’t feel the same if I know it’s not the real deal. It must be SO frustrating as a designer to see other people making money off of your style. However…
I am ashamed to say that even I myself fell captive to the awful trend of buying a generic bikini. Now that I am a working girl, online shopping is my only way of feeding my terrifying shopping addiction, and so the other day whilst I was scrolling I came across the exact Triangl bikini I have had my greedy little eyes on for the past 3 months – for not even a quarter of the price! Well its safe to say I chose my size, checked out and paid quicker than it takes to count the corners of a triangle. It arrived the next day and I’ve never looked back. (Holla holla for free delivery and credit cards) I will definitely still buy a legit Triangl kini, but I’m at the point where a Triangl look-a-like is better than nothing at all. At least for now. Right? Back me up here guys.
– Tip: Looking for a new drinking game? Take a shot every time I said Triangl in this post. You will be well on your way before you have even reached the second paragraph. Sheesh.
