It’s slightly terrifying to be writing a post dated the end of March, didn’t 2018 just start? If you haven’t noticed I’ve been a bit scarce this month and for that I do apologise. I’ve been preoccupied with a million other things to say the least and have had zero inspiration for my blog. Last year I tried to push content out regardless of what space I was in but this year I have decided to go for quality over quantity. I want you guys to have only the best on this platform.
Now that summer is just about on its way out here in Cape Town, I took advantage of the warm Durban weather when I was there last week and met with Courtney Warren to shoot an outfit. More often than not when I do shoots for my blog I land up changing in my car and piecing together things frantically in-between snapping some pics. They are looks I love but not always looks I manage to wear that day. This time I wore my everyday get-up that I was trolling the malls in earlier that morning. A true OOTD for me.
If you’ve been following me on Instagram you might have seen an unboxing I did not too long ago with some goodies Superbalist sent me, the shoes and skirt particularly. I really wanted to show how you can style the pieces and how fun they are. Although I hate this word when referring to fashion, the pieces are a bit quirky. I love this asymmetrical skirt SO much! The jagged edges and differentiation in length make it so fashion forward. I was also in need of a good denim skirt so when I saw this I had to have it. The top is just a basic tee that I paired it with to keep it super casual. You can of course dress-up the skirt by adding some layers and dramatic heels and you’re good for a night out.
It’s also border-line impossible to ignore the incessant Instagram posts I have done about the jewellery I am wearing here. I stumbled upon the loveliest (and cheapest) online jewellery store I have seen in a long time and have been purchasing from there ever since. I am beyond fed-up with the standard cosmetic jewellery stores that sell the same dull items all year round. What is great about By Cara is that it’s a small local start-up business, with good quality products and amazing service. I will support businesses like that any day.

I can’t finish this post without mentioning my new DW watch ? I mean how many blog posts have you seen my Marc Jacobs watch featuring? Probably all of them. I’ve never really liked another watch more than my Marc Jacobs watch which is why I was happy to stick with it all this time. It also has sentimental value to me. Sadly, it did however stop working. Bleh. So I took this opportunity to broaden my ‘accessory horizon’ and purchased this Petite Black DW watch with a matching gold cuff. Okay but calm down, I’m still going to get my other watch fixed because I can’t live without that thing, I am just giving myself more options to choose from in the morning.
Although I have been a bit MIA this month I did notice that my blog activity remained the same as most months, which makes me so happy! I love that you all still read my older posts and browse through the site, that’s what it’s here for. Thank you so much for tagging along with me on my blogging journey, I am really enjoying it and I have a very special personal post coming up soon which I hope you will all love. See you soon.
Very good post. I definitely appreciate this site. Stick with it!
