I don’t know who is more excited that today is officially the first day of Spring and, more importantly, the end of a bitterly cold Winter; me or you all who have had to put up with my online rampages about the cold. My apologies everyone, I have been a bit annoying, but all that is behind us now. Peel off those jackets, blow out that fire and pack away your electric blankets… here comes the sun!
A bit cliché perhaps but I whipped out my trusty straw hat from last Spring (see last season’s post Straw Hats & Bare Backs to see how I styled it then) to pair with this pale blue and white striped dress. It’s so elegant and snug fitting, in all the right places, and has beautiful pleats from the bodice downwards, creating a very flattering and comfortable fit. I would say I dress pretty conservatively in comparison to a lot of other people, I’ve never really liked showing cleavage or anything to revealing, so this simple cut out just below the top was perfect for me. Along with the daintiest little bow and buttons down the front half of the dress – it really is the perfect dress for Spring.
On a side note: this look as a whole has a lot of similarities to my last season’s Spring post. Either my style is dull and never-changing or, this look is timeless. I think I’ll go with the latter option 😉
It wouldn’t be an accurate Spring look if I didn’t include the shoe of the season (you heard it here first folks), the Espadrille. Stylish, comfortable, versatile, elegant, the list goes on! I love how many different variations there are of the classic Espadrille. I myself have an identical black pair to the ones worn here and will most definitely be adding to that collection as the season continues. Although this pair has the slightest wedge I have my eyes on a beautiful platform pair in white, and maybe khaki too. My favourite thing about the Espadrille is the wrap around silk detailing, you can wear it many different ways and adds such a feminine touch.
What do you think of these rose gold reflective Ray-Ban’s? I’m probably a bit late to the party as I have seen a few people wearing these since last Summer, but I needed some new shades so I got these as a gift for my Birthday. Something different from what I’ve gone for in the past but so far I’m loving them.

If I look very pale in these images it’s only because, I am very pale. I had even dabbed on a bit of bronzing cream at the last minute to help disguise my Winter body, but to my defense the editing here has enhanced it. Thanks again to Radz Photography for these images, we had a lot of laughs putting together this look.
The birds are chirping, the flowers are blooming, the sun is shining and new Spring style’s are in store – today is a good day! Make the most of cheesy occasions such as these (we all know I do) and have some fun. Have a picnic, breakfast on your balcony or just go for a walk outside, whatever you need to do to get into the ‘Spring’ of things. If you don’t, the only person who’s missing out is you.
Happy Spring day lovelies!
[…] last month, was actually a very similar look to what I am wearing here. This look is basically Here Comes The Sun Part 2. Same hat, same shoes (in a different colour) and a matching set instead of a dress. I […]
