I’ve never met an animal print I didn’t like.
Fashion is fickle and changes day-to-day. If you’re like me, this is good news as my mood changes with the wind ? All jokes aside, I’m so happy to welcome back animal print into my wardrobe, particularly cheetah/leopard print – I still get mixed up between the two. I love how this print can take a simple outfit and give it a trendy twist. I recently got together with Tegan Smith to take some pictures of a look I am loving right now that showcases the animal print in all it’s glory.
I’ve also linked a few other animal print pieces that I’m loving right now and can spark some ideas for you, so scroll on down if you’re interested in those.
If you’ve read my previous outfit posts you’ll know that my fashion choices have definitely changed and evolved as time goes by. I’ve always had a very black and white view of fashion, meaning that there are certain items that are fashionable and others that are not. There was no in-between. Bold colours and busy prints and patterns have always been viewed with caution as they are not easy trends to pull off – I’m so aware how easy it is to look tacky. Lately I’m far more adventurous and willing to try new looks (even if it doesn’t seem too hectic to you, for me this is a big deal). Don’t get me wrong, minimal fashion looks consisting of plain tee’s and blue denim’s will forever be my obsession, however it’s also important to have a bit of fun with your fashion and play around with different trends (disclaimer: not every trend suits everyone. Have the sense to know what works for you).
Keeping the above in mind I’ve styled this cheetah print frill dress very much to my own style, simple with a LBB (little black bag) and classic black platform sandals. My gold jewels are the perfect combo to finish it off. Is it possible to be bold with your fashion choices while still playing it safe? Cause that’s basically my goal here. I’m stepping out but taking baby steps you guys.
