You guys, it’s a few days before Christmas, a few more days until New Year and a day into my holiday time. I’m going to keep it real, I have a serious case of writers block/lazy gal syndrome. I’ve been staring at my laptop for 30 minutes now trying to find some cohesive, well-written, witty way to start off this blog post and to be honest, I’m just not bothered. Considering how laid back and festive this time of year is, I’m impressed you even managed to find your way to this page.
I just wanted to pop in and say thank you for reading my blog this year and following along with me through my journey, so let me say just that (as blatantly as I can, I’ll save the clever puns and intricate English for next year).
I’ve been pretty useless at sticking to almost all of the goals I set for my blog this year, some due to general busyness at work, others due to lack of motivation. My creative streak has been at an all time low these past few months and I’ve really struggled to keep my blog going. I started this blog as an outlet for my own thoughts and opinions, my own beauty habits and fashion fav’s, yet it’s been a while since I stopped watching what other bloggers are doing and focused on the reason I began blogging in the first place.
I have no intention of creating New Years resolutions this year or planning a whole bunch of things I want to do and see, as I usually do each year. I’m also not making any promises as to what you can expect from my blog as I have all these amazing ideas, but putting them into motion can often be a lot more complicated. This year I just want to make an effort to block out the noise of everyone else and focus on me. Doing my own thing regardless of what others do has kind of been my own personal super power throughout my life, or so I like to think at least. It’s allowed me to be confident, strong and happy and I think 2019 will be the year of getting back to that.
I’m beyond grateful for the guys and girls who stop by blog or social media pages, the brands who’ve worked with me and the friends and family who continue to support my little side project that has become so much of who I am. These last two weeks of the year I plan on being switched off (mentally) from everything and plonked on a beach somewhere. No but like literally, sun, sand, sea and a drink are the only things I’m committed to this summer.
What ever your plans these holidays, or maybe you’re not on holiday, I hope you’ll be happy, relaxed, safe and really take the time to reflect on this year. Sometimes life can be so crazy we can get so caught up in our little bubble that is our life, but it’s good to stop and count your blessings for all that you have and all that this year has been for you – the good and the bad.
Side note: How cute is my swimsuit? It’s from a local online store Summerheart.
Sending you all lots of love, see you next year.
