In most area’s of my life I try my best to be original and different, but I’m afraid I fail dismally when it comes to trying to NOT be a stereotypical ‘blonde barbie’. It’s got to the point where I have actually just embraced it – what’s that saying… “If you can’t beat them, join them”. What I am referring to is of course my love for all things fluffy, sparkly and pink! Pink nails, pink stationery, pink phone cover etc etc. If you look at my blog you can see I have even incorporated an undertone of pink everywhere as I feel it embodies my personality really well. For some reason this girly obsession of mine hasn’t translated into my fashion posts as of yet, so upon stumbling across this satin bomber I built a look around it to share with you all.
I really wanted the bomber jacket to be the focus of the look and catch your eye, so I paired it with an all white ensemble, including a long-sleeved lace crop top I had hiding in my cupboard from a while back. From the frilly socks to the sparkly silver platforms, the whole look is really fun and playful, while still sticking to some of this season’s trends. Also, when did caps become a trend? I can’t remember because it feels like I have been wearing them for ages now. They are such a simple addition to an outfit and perfect for those bad hair days!
Sometimes what looks good in person doesn’t always photograph well, something I experienced first hand when putting together this post. This particular white denim skirt is such a versatile staple item to have, it is the kind of piece that won’t ever really go out of style. It isn’t however very shapely; meaning that it doesn’t move with/fit to your body (It does give me a bit of a booty which I’m not complaining about). An item like this is better worn with a crop top or tight fitting t-shirt versus an oversized bomber jacket as shown here. It’s sort of a standard rule I have that if you have an oversized, loose fitting item on top, the bottom needs to be the opposite (and vice versa). It would seem I have broken my own rule in this instance. Overall I don’t think it was a huge train smash – please can I ask you to just keep in mind I am not a square box in real life!

There are so many variations of this look, swopping out the skirt for a cute pair of high waisted shorts and some sandals; or take this look into the evening by losing the cap and adding some ripped denim jeans with a heeled boot. Either way we all love a bomber right now so be sure to add it on your list of ‘musts’ if you don’t already have one. Don’t forget to have fun with your clothes, be daring and most of all be confident in whatever you choose to wear.
