The infamous little black dress. The last minute outfit lifesaver and guaranteed jaw dropper. When all else fails – bring out the LBD. By now you are probably envisioning your own little black dress, because let’s face it, we all have one. Ideal during any season and for every occasion. With Valentine’s day being the perfect excuse to dress up for your special someone why not go for the classic little black dress and red lip? Take a look at my version of the LBD and let me know what you think.
This little black number is near and dear to my heart; the first reason being because I bought it online (yes to convenience) for only R249! I don’t remember the last time I bought an item of clothing for that price, let alone a formal cocktail dress. It is such an elegant piece with the tiniest hint of sass thanks to the side slit and semi low cut top. I love the detail in the front yet the simplicity of the dress as a whole. I chose very few accessories for this look as I wanted the dress to feature all by itself – after all that is the beauty of a LBD. It does all the work for you. This dress is definitely a timeless piece that will never go out of style.
Let’s talk shoes for a minute.
Throwback to the end of November and crazy Black Friday specials everywhere. I was being responsible and shopping to look (attempting to save money) until low and behold I found these beaut’s at Topshop for 50% off. So in the end I bought them for R300. My one and only Black Friday purchase and there is definitely no buyers remorse here.
All in all this outfit cost me R550. THE WHOLE OUTFIT. If anyone knows me they know I have the most expensive taste when it comes to fashion, so to unintentionally put together such a budget friendly outfit makes me so proud. There is financial hope for me yet.

If it looks like I was a lot happier during this shoot than most, it’s because I was! I was loving my tasty cocktails and getting to drink them at 11am. A festive shoot for a festive look 😉
