If my memory serves me right I’ve posted one or two ‘three quarter dresses’ in an outfit post before, but have I ever done a red outfit period? I’ve been sharing my looks on my blog for just over a year now and I thought it was due time I showed a bit of variation in colour. While I love trends that come and go, I do tend to stick to a more classic style of dressing in my outfit posts. The kind of clothing that (hopefully) doesn’t go out of fashion ever really. This is done in the hope that I won’t look back in years/months and cringe from start to finish reading my blog. This look is definitely more of a ‘current trend’ look than others, but probably a more accurate reflection of my everyday style.
I’d like to think of myself as a trendsetter in fashion, but realistically, in most instances I just catch onto an ongoing trend before everyone else. I search for a lot of fashion inspo online through different Instagram pages and Pinterest accounts which often showcase unique looks and items before they catch on commercially. This was the case with both my Vans and Kurt Cobain sunnies. I’ve received copious compliments and queries about these two items specifically, both of which I bought online. Due to the classic platform Vans being so popular right now I couldn’t even tell you where to get them, just search, search and search online and Vans stores nationwide until stock comes in. Like I said I bought mine online through Superbalist before the trend kicked in so I was able to grab a pair. These white sunnies are also currently sold out on the site I bought them off (basic white girl tendencies, we all want the same things) but it’s likely they will be restocked soon so just keep an eye out.
This bright and bold red dress is super comfy, super trendy and super affordable. For some reason this particular style dress seems to enlarge your hips, or at least mine anyway, and make me look double the size I am, which is really frustrating. To combat this I paired the dress with a satin black bomber jacket. It helps break up the colour and cinch in my body a bit. This look is perfect for Cape Town this time of year.
Dress – H&M

I always try use the last little splurb of my post’s to add in some personal info or an update on anything worth mentioning to you all, but opening up about super personal stuff, it’s not something I’m good at. Even in real life I’m a private person, so online sharing is pushing it. I am eminently aware of the amount of people who view the content your share online and so keeping that constantly in mind when I share things on my blog makes me hold back. It would appear though that whenever I share more intimate posts regarding my feelings or thoughts I get an amazing response from you all. Moving forward if there are specific topics you would like me to share on, please let me know and I’ll try my best to share on that. Unless there is something I personally feel I want to write down and post about, I stick to outfit posts and beauty products etc. On that note… I PROMISE a make-up post is coming soon! ?
