After 10 days of a ‘blog-less’ life, I’m happy to report that I’m back! Now I know I don’t necessarily post weekly but the sentiment ‘you don’t know what you got till it’s gone’ was overwhelmingly true in this instance. Being without my blog, and not being sure I was going to get it back, reminded me why I started it in the first place and why I love it so much.
I love having my little spot in the online sphere just for me, allocated to whatever I want to do with it. A lot of content creators or ‘influencers’ (not a fan of that term but that’s a discussion for another time) use Instagram as their main platform to connect with their followers, but if (and when) the day comes that this platform falls through, they will have no way of keeping their online community together. Whether it be YouTube, Vimeo, WordPress – make sure you have your own private outlet to communicate through guys, social media alone isn’t enough.
Now that the formalities are seen to, let’s get down to business. Obviously I’m back in true Kayleigh Khronicles style, back with another outfit post.
This time last year I did a post titled Jagged Edges featuring the same accessories as shown here. This was definitely not intentional but is a good reminder to me that buying the right accessories can elevate, and change up any outfit. Granted I’ve only worn these shoes two or three times outside of these posts, but the fact remains that I still love them and still find them perfectly on trend. Also, trying not to panic at how quickly a year has gone. Meh.
This beige jumpsuit was a ‘love at first sight’ kinda purchase for me. I saw it online and immediately pictured all the different looks I could create with it and all the events I could wear it to. Update: This is the only time I’ve worn the jumpsuit as of yet and its been two months since I bought it 😂 I will wear it again and soon, especially considering summer is on its way out and I don’t have that much time left to do so. It is a very basic piece that can be dressed up or down and I know I’ll keep it for seasons to come either way.
One of my favourite, if not my favourite, trends of the season is the cowrie necklace trend. It’s not a new item by any means but it went from surfer chick to high fashion chic this season and I wear it as much as my outfits will allow it. It’s seen here paired with another necklace as I’m still embracing layering my jewellery. Both pieces from my favourite, By Cara.

Unrelated to this look, I just wanted to say how much I appreciate those of you who read my blog and take an interest in something that I care so much about. As I mentioned above, many people use Instagram as their way of connecting to others, sharing their stories and allowing people a look inside their lives, which is great. I however keep my Instagram more private and save the ‘real me’ for my blog. I like that I have a select few readers who take the time to come on over to my blog, read through my post’s and genuinely enjoy following my life. I’m a pretty private person and for whatever reason, sharing information on Instagram vs my blog makes me feel a lot more exposed. I simply use Instagram as an extension of my blog. But I would like to know, what are your thoughts on this? Would you like to see me open up more on my social media and share more about myself?
I tried to keep this short and sweet but honestly, not sure I succeeded (same story different day). Note to self: You’re not someone who can cut to the point, just embrace it. Have a great week and enjoy the last little bit of warm weather, time to start planning those winter outfits!
