It’s about that time again. Time for the LOVEliest and cheesiest day of the whole year and I’m not complaining. I love LOVE and I love Valentines Day. Married, in a relationship or single AF, Valentines Day should be a happy day regardless. Use this commercial day of love to make your family and friends feel special. Tell someone in your life you love them and how much they mean to you, or even better, take the day to love yourself! When last did you make self-care the top priority in your life? Get your nails done, take the afternoon off of work or sit with a tub of ice-cream watching Netflix all evening – no judgements. Either way I think Valentines Day is a great excuse to spread some joy in your life or the life of others and it is an occasion not to be missed.
If you are taking the day to get dressed up and have a night on the town with the girls or going on a romantic date night with your boo, you need to look the part.
Now it’s very easy to be cliché and find the brightest red dress you own to parade the city in on Valentines Day but I’m hoping we are all a bit more original than that. This look I have put together here is my take on a t-shirt dress turned into a formal evening look. T-shirt dresses are the best for lazy weekends when you don’t know what to wear or you don’t feel like wearing anything too tight-fitting. However, t-shirt dresses make for very trendy and flattering night-time looks too. I specifically love this white t-shirt dress with the black corset detail from Shop Brett Robson. I have been wanting to join in with the corset trend for quite some time and so this simple yet stylish piece seemed like the perfect option to do so with. The fabric is extremely comfortable and I love how the dress stands out. Expect compliments.com.

With statement shoes and a little black handbag, I tied this whole look together with red detailing. Red lips, red nails and if you’re lucky, a red rose too. I still wanted to incorporate the colour of love for this most romantic occasion without it being too obvious. What do you think of my take on this date night look? Would you wear this out on the town or do you prefer a more casual approach to the t-shirt dress?
Sending you all buckets of love and happiness, this Valentines Day and every other day.
